Human Centric Lighting

Previous Page Next Page

Human Centric Lighting: A new era in lighting that simulates It simulates the spectral quality of natural daylight over the entire day, comes to change our daily lives, which for the most part takes place indoors.

Numerous studies clearly show that artificial lighting with its uniform, invariable characteristics has a negative effect on human health, wellbeing and performance. Human Centric Lighting takes into account many different factors thus keeping the human hormone levels balanced, even under artificial lighting. This has a demonstrably positive impact on both the body and the mind. As a consequence, performance and concentration are greatly improved.

The Techlight Innovations team, thanks to LUMITECH's world-renowned PI-LED technology, can apply advanced Human Centric Lighting solutions. PI-LED combines Tunable White and RGB colors in one single light source and therefore provides spectral diversity of natural daylight and by continuously adjusting the color temperature simulates the corresponding time of day: from dawn, noon to sunset.

PI-LED is many steps ahead of standard Tunable White solutions, which are based on cold white and warm white light and cannot simulate the intensity and color-temperature range of sunlight needed to support the human biorhythm, as defined by the Planckian locus.

Lighting systems with integrated PI-LED technology can be programmed and adapted based on the natural light that corresponds to specific geographical zones. Apart from the ideal Human Centric Lighting they allow for a wide range of options as well as flexible adaptation to individual and changing lighting purposes according to individual preferences.

Human Centric Lighting, apart from private households, finds applications in:

  • Offices and factories: Increases concentration and efficiency while reducing stress
  • Clinics and hospitals: Improves the sleep / wake cycle of patients, reduces stress in patients and staff, offers a clearer picture of the human anatomy in the operating room
  • Retail: Brings the colors and product portfolio representations to life accurately (you get what you see) creating a more natural and pleasant atmosphere
  • Art spaces: Provides flexibility and protection to artwork lighting, simulates "true" daylight that highlights and enhances the look and feel of the displayed artworks
